Who we are
Wish upon a Party Entertainment Limited ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at admin@wishuponaparty.co.uk, or by post at 42-44 Argyle Street, Birkenhead, Wirral, CH41 6AF.
What we collect
This website has no enquiry form and collects no personal data from you directly. We do hold personal data in three situations:
- When you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email. Your name, phone number or email address, and anything you tell us about your celebration, including the date, location, number of children and any allergies or additional needs you choose to share.
- When you sign up to our newsletter. Your email address.
- When you browse the site. If you accept optional cookies, we collect anonymised analytics about how the site is used.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange your booking. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract, and performing that contract.
- To send you our newsletter. Lawful basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it. Lawful basis: your consent, given through our cookie banner.
Where you tell us about a child's allergies, disability or additional needs, that is special category data. We use it only to deliver your party safely, and we rely on your explicit consent, given when you choose to tell us.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for marketing. We do use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Our website host, which serves this site and keeps standard server logs.
- Our email provider, for correspondence and the newsletter.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us that way. Your use of WhatsApp is also covered by Meta's own privacy policy.
- Our booking platform, where you complete a confirmed booking and payment.
- Google Analytics, if you accept optional cookies. IP addresses are anonymised.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where that's the case, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
Cookies
We set a small number of strictly necessary cookies to make the site work, including one that remembers your cookie choice. These don't need consent.
Optional cookies (analytics, embedded reviews, social feeds and maps) are only set after you accept them. Nothing from a third party loads until you do. You can change your mind at any time using the link at the bottom left of any page.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't become bookings are kept for up to 12 months. Booking records are kept for six years, which is what our accounting and insurance obligations require. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Photographs
We sometimes photograph our parties, and photographs taken by our team remain our property. We may use them to promote our services. If you'd rather we didn't use pictures featuring your child, tell us and we won't, just let us know at the time of booking or afterwards.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data deleted, where we don't need to keep it
- Restrict or object to how we use it
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our lawful basis
- Ask us to transfer your data to another provider

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website is intended for parents and guardians, not children. We don't knowingly collect data directly from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
